Hajj badal (by proxy)
Ever wondered why performing an Hajj Badal for a loved one is such a profound act of devotion? ✨
This initiative is rooted in authentic Islamic teachings, bringing immense rewards and Baraka. Discover the reasons below:
📜 Permissibility of Hajj Badal
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) permitted performing Hajj and Umrah on behalf of those who are unable to do so due to illness or death, provided that the person performing it has already completed their own Hajj or Umrah. An authentic hadith states:
"A woman from the tribe of Juhaina came to the Prophet and said, 'My mother had vowed to perform Hajj but she died before she could fulfill her vow. Should I perform Hajj on her behalf?' The Prophet said, 'Yes, perform Hajj on her behalf. Had there been a debt on your mother, would you have paid it or not? So, pay Allah’s debt as He has more right to be paid.'"
(Sahih Bukhari)
Our students in Islamic studies, who perform Hajj Badal on your behalf, have already completed their own pilgrimages, ensuring they fulfill this requirement.
